then we move onto further bench-testing which takes about a yearto develop the final formulation that moves into engine testing,either in daimler or in shell. and then finally we go intothis real-world field testing. our test trucks run 24 hours, fully loaded with100 tonne vehicle weight. they run in a hot and dustyenvironment of steep inclines. the load factor on the engine,as well on as the engine oil, is extremely high.
perfect conditionsto push boundaries. the testing that we're doing isgood for us to gain real-world experience in terms of how our engine oilsare working for our customers. shell sees the future of heavy dutydiesel engine oils to be rather challenging,but also as a key opportunity. but the way to really overcomemany of those challenges and capitalise on those opportunitiesis through partnerships. that's going to allow us to makesignificant changes in things like
fuel economy and emissions, and even further step changesas they come along, in terms of technology. and at the end of the day, that'swhat really matters to the customer, is that that engine that they use, that every part of it worksin perfect harmony. better lubrication.better engine performance.
