when you say shell,people do know your organisation. there are a lot of opportunitiesin shell. it is definitelyan exciting organisation. as a graduate, they do put you in real lifesituations and big projects.

really making sure that my productsare delivered on time, and to make sure that the operationshave run smoothly. we do not want any hiccupsin the refinery. there is a huge focus on safety. that is something that's becomevery real in my job, and something that i appreciate more. being engaged in these commercialnegotiations can be quite exciting. you get to see how your work impactsthe business. it really exposes you tothe different portfolios.
this reminds you how bigthis organisation is. there is always an opportunityto innovate from the current processesthat are already established. it's really a companythat's constantly looking at new ways to innovateand to improve. it's a really hard environmentto find in the corporate world. it's very nurturing,and you get to meet a lot of people who are willing to guide you. no matter how senior a leader isin shell,
i have never found it difficultto approach them, not justyour immediate line managers, but as well as the mentorthat is assigned to you, as well. they do take a very proactive rolein engaging you in what you hope to achieve. that definitely does develop youas an individual, as you pick up different skill setsthat a leader needs. there's always time to pursueyour own interests, and i think that shell definitelyrespects that personal space.
i was able to actually usethe self-development learning fund to actually learn a new languagelast year, so that was something thati took outside of shell, and that was really fun. there is a lot of diversity and thereare a lot of young fellow graduates that you can also speak toand learn from them. the graduates from all over the world come together forlunch & learn sessions and to just get to know each other.
we hope to be able to connectwith more fellow graduates all around the world, so you get to meet a lot ofinteresting personalities people who are very different,and yet similar, in wanting to achievetheir career ambitions. i was able to find a close groupof friends with similar interests. it brings me to work feeling happierevery day just to be able to see themand have lunch with them. there are, in fact,a lot of opportunities
to really test and stretch how faryour capacity can actually bring you. i really appreciate the opportunityand the confidence that the company put in me.
