my name's tom, i studied mechanical engineering with management here at the universal aberdeen and i'm from newport-on-tay down in fife. i chose the university of aberdeen becuase it's a great city, there's lots of opportunities up here, and also opportunities at the university to go anywhere in the world. it was probably some of the experiences that have come from the formula student team here at aberdeen, so i've been part of that
Offshore Job Aberdeen, since i was in first year, i've been part of itfor every every single year and probably one of my most memorable experiences was going down to silverstone for the first time and seeing the car that we helped build go round the track. i really like the city becuase there's a real buzz of industry, especially with oil and gas
industry being here and there's also different industries as well, the renewable sector and there's a lot of opportunities around the city as well. so, in september i head off to a graduate job at brewdog brewery up in ellon so it'll be a maintenance engineering job and looking into a project engineer job as well. so, i like the variation in the programme and so even though it's mainly mechanical we dabbled with a bit of chemical as well and some electrical and structural as well. i would recommend aberdeen to anyone who wants to study here, or anyone considering studying here. the mechanical engineering course is brilliant and even the general engineering course in the first second year and there's lots of
opportunities internally and externally with the university.
